Mentioned in the masterpiece of kissu Ziqing Sword:
: All the characters of Kenshin that I am working on are first roughly made using software and then modified.
: I admire all the heroes who complete ASCII by hand. When I first started doing ASCII
: There is no software yet, so I have to spell it manually. My first six-line signature took me 4 hours.
: Fortunately, the site I am on is also a maple system and has a preview function, which saves time.
: However, the software still needs to be modified for a long time after the conversion. It is not directly ready for production and is completely dependent on the software.
: Of course it is absolutely not advisable. I usually need at least 3 or 4 hours of revision.
So, with such a long modification time
It is better to complete a work from scratch by yourself
Handmade work must take a long time in the beginning
However, with familiarity, the time will gradually shorten
But just modifying the diagram of the software not only slows down the progress
Every time I have to spend time retouching the pictures.
: What the hero being said about trying different methods is actually what everyone wants to try, because they have seen many
: Many of the works of Taiwanese heroes are very exquisite and breathtaking. However, it can be seen that
: Taiwanese works are all about color, color arrangement, and the use of individual characters.
: Distinctive characteristics, so much so that one can judge whether it is from Taiwan through the drawing style.
This is because manual drawings start from the basics
And everyone arranges characters in very different ways
Habits formed during the trial and error period are usually retained.
This also creates distinctive personal characteristics
So it’s not just Taiwanese works that can be distinguished
Just by looking at the picture, you can roughly tell whose work it is.
: I believe many people have also tried to learn this style, but they can't get the point.
This is why I keep sharing my experiences here.
: Also, being hero, do you edit ascii works online? In the previous article
: I saw it was said that the picture is in the lower right corner and then edited accordingly. I have also edited ASCII online.
: Then I used the preview function to modify it. However, I found character input quite troublesome and I had to keep doing it.
: Copying and pasting characters is quite laborious to modify, so a lot of time is spent on typing characters.
: Or does Taiwan also have a corresponding character input tool?
When I first started, I edited online all the time.
Later, because it took a long time to draw more complex pictures, I switched to using an editor to edit them offline.
On the other hand, the editor does not need to switch screens frequently, which is much more convenient.
However, the method is to place the picture in the lower right corner for comparison and editing. It has not changed.
As for the characters, it is indeed a bit troublesome to say that they are formal.
Until now, I still use the method of copying and pasting.
But that's because I'm used to this way and it's hard to change.
But now the editors attached to software such as pcman already have tools that can be used for click input.
It should be quite convenient for people who find it troublesome to copy and paste.
: I think you have to work on the drawing by hand, and you need to be very precise about the drawing, such as the height and width.
: As well as the relative position of each part, the overall effect will change if there is a deviation.
: Do you personally think this is difficult, or is it just a lack of practice as mentioned in the article?
Yes, it does require the accumulation of experience.
But in terms of manual drawings
It must start from a small part and then slowly expand.
It’s not a matter of drawing everything in one go
So it’s not difficult to just focus on a small part each time
When the drawn range gradually increases, you can then make corrections to the overall outline.
So when you first start, don’t aim for a full-screen image.
First practice with small and medium-sized pictures to master the basic skills of modeling.
Then gradually draw more complex patterns
This is also the process that I have gone through until now in the drawing below.
It’s not that easy to have exquisite animation works
Ten minutes on stage, ten years of hard work off stage, laugh.
