Title: Five Years of ASCII
Sending site: Shuimu Community Tue Jun 10 21:02:28 2008 , within the site
I just searched the forum and found that my earliest work in Shuimu was from 2003.
I couldn't help but recall my own growth history and smiled dumbly.
I started out as a moderator at BBS City of Angels in the Department of Chemical Engineering. I had to learn art art, and I was barely able to use it.
In 2003, it was the period when asciiart in BBS in colleges and universities across the country was growing and maturing.
Both the works and the painters are extremely prosperous, and zixia is also in the ascendant.
At that time, when I looked at the works of my predecessors, I could only sigh and drool, and I basically couldn’t participate in the discussion.
Looking back, I think it was a waste of a great resource, and maybe I was born at the wrong time.
I worked as a station clerk at Angel in 2004, and my art skills were still improving at a rapid pace.
I have published articles in Shuimu, and I was fortunate to have guidance from predecessors such as Milk Bottle. After all, I didn’t spend too much time on research. It was all borrowing.
From 2004 to 2005, he transferred from Angel to Shuimu and became a moderator in Palsword.
The advanced version and the fairy sword character painting have further improved on this basis.
During this period, my seniors gradually left, but this was my personal growth period.
I applied to be a moderator of asciiart in 2005 and my enthusiasm is burning.
But at this time, the old moderators have almost retired.
K University said that when you publish your work, there is no one to guide you, but there are many people watching coldly from behind.
I've had that feeling before, and I was still a moderator at the time.
At that time, I was still going around the country’s major bbs to read other people’s works.
Although I had no one to guide me, this was the period of my fastest personal growth.
This happens to be the period when BBSs in colleges and universities across the country are closed to off-campus visits.
It’s really hard to find works everywhere to zz
This was done until 2007 for two full years
During this period, my co-moderators lifesuuucks, brightfox, etc.
I watched them come and go, and I also watched the replacement of old and new ones on the page.
I started doing station work in 2007, but my enthusiasm has almost burned out. It’s been a few years.
I think that’s where personal growth ends.
Well, to borrow a sentence from Crowwyue, I like asciiart because I like the feeling of dancing on a tightrope.
Make something imaginable or even unexpected under limited methods and methods
Only you can experience that kind of surprise
The asciiart version is just a platform. Many people come and go, and many people come back.
I'm just one of the passers-by
No one knows how long telnet-based bbs will exist, and no one knows when asciiart will be over.
As long as the people in it can experience this kind of surprise and happiness, and there is someone to share it with you
then that's enough
