A message for newbies
sadgirl@WHU
Recently, several friends asked me about getting started with ASCII graphics and the use of some tools.
I promised to write relevant text in ASCIIART recently,
Because I have exams, I have put off writing until now and also because I am lazy, haha
It is no exaggeration to consider ASCIIART as the most beautiful scenery of bbs.
ASCIIART adds a lot of color to character-style bbs.
First of all, let’s talk about the problem of viewing pictures. The main telnet tools everyone uses are cterm, sterm, and fterm.
For ascii drawings and viewing pictures, cterm is recommended.
It has the best support for the effects of ascii control characters, and generally there will be no display problems.
sterm, fterm, etc. have poor support for animation and other effects, and problems may occur during display.
Many friends may be surprised when they see a very pp ASCII picture and like it very much. Everyone has a love for beauty.
You must "steal" the things you like for your own use! Haha.
This is also the first step to get involved in Asciiart, and learn from other people's achievements.
Of course it is best to make some modifications yourself and have your own style.
Regarding copying techniques, there are also detailed introductions in the art hall in the essence area. I won’t go into details here.
On the day of the promotional lecture, blsx introduced the use of control symbols such as color and flashing. Friends who still have questions about this can also go to
Find relevant introductions in the Essence Area Art Hall. Here I will mainly introduce commonly used drawing tools. :P
The creation of Asciiart is time-consuming and labor-intensive work. Using tools is very convenient for coloring, setting glitter effects, etc.
You can also see the effect while creating without having to try experiments many times. Haha, this is not false advertising.
Generally, we make some simple static signature files, description files, etc. I recommend ansieditor, which is relatively simple to use.
The download address is http: bbs.nju.edu.cn file ae source2.zip
The current version seems to be 2.03, which also supports animation production, but I have not used it and don’t know the specific experience of using it.
Other creative tools include Big Carrot, CCEdit, BBSEDIT, etc., but I don’t think they are as easy to use as Ansieditor.:
There are also some conversion tools to convert bmp images into ascii graphics. The ones I know of include Bmp2Ascii and Pic2chinese.
Haha, the name is easy to understand.
Bmp2Ascii converts bmp images into ascii codes. The previous <image frame> is converted using this and then modified.
of.
Pic2chinese converts image files into Chinese character shapes.
For example, the English version name in the digital version I did for Digital two days ago was converted using this tool.
Regarding conversion, after all, tools cannot be perfect, so you generally have to modify it yourself.
Now can you start your Asciiart creation more smoothly?
Hurry up and get started. When you're done, be sure to bring it here to show it off!
