What I said before is correct
The things mentioned later are complicated but not messy. Let’s discuss them directly.
Pictures such as Samurai Shodown, Tiger Roar, Dragon Roar, etc. actually use the software bmp2ascii.
After the transfer, the image was retouched, but it is still in the early stages of research. I personally feel that the retouching effect is not yet satisfactory.
For a while, I was keen on studying the effects of software in order to know myself and the enemy.
Usually the images converted by software have different effects, depending on the view.
Unless the image itself is very clean, clutter is common.
If you don’t have a certain grasp of the color block diagram as a whole, it will be difficult to edit it into a messy but not messy way.
But it's not difficult once you get familiar with it
The best way is to use drawing software to process the image to a fairly clean level before converting it.
Let’s look back at the purely manual drawing part
In fact, manual drawing is rarely messy unless the processing power is insufficient.
The reason is that like the previous demonstration, the details are unlikely to be added at the beginning.
Early Taiwanese painters rarely included lines in color block diagrams.
In that case, it will be closer to the feeling of software conversion.
But if the software transfers the image, the image itself is not clean, that is, the color is difficult to distinguish easily.
The transferred image will have noise and look messy.
Another reason for the confusion is that the color block characters themselves are quite large.
Use solid color blocks to piece together details. If there are too many, it will look confusing.
A better situation is the so-called clutter but not chaos, which will have good effects from a distance.
Let’s talk about the effect of glasses here. Take off the glasses and have a look.
The focus is still on mastering the color block diagram itself
There is no foundation. Even if you use software, it is not easy to correct it to achieve good results.
But even if you have a good foundation, you still can’t avoid the biggest drawback of software conversion.
It’s just that you can only get good results by converting big pictures or large pictures.
Even if you can add some personal characteristics
For ordinary people, a large picture that fills the entire screen looks good.
But such a picture is ultimately unbearable and has nothing worth pondering.
No matter how good your technical skills are, the work itself is still boring
Just like painters like Van Gogh don't want photo effects
So I have been pursuing how to use the smallest space to achieve the best results.
express expressive eyes within the minimum allowable range
In this way, there is more space. The same big picture can be filled with more characters and objects.
Adds storytelling and richness to the picture without appearing cluttered
Skills are just a means, not a goal. They are naturally gained in the process of seeking.
The focus is still on how the content of the picture should impress everyone.
Although the software is indeed very fast to use, it can also have good results if used properly.
But after all, it does not belong entirely to the labor of the person who transferred the picture.
If I really want to say that, it is still the credit of the software developer dntx, brother Dongniaotingxue.
Besides, my goal is not to become a mass-produced dark silk picture printer.
So after research, I finally don’t plan to use the software again.
#Add a postscript. I forgot to apologize to the painters who were communicating with Zixia at that time, Brother Flubber, etc.
I didn’t tell everyone the truth when I posted the pictures for testing purposes.
Although everyone may not mind using software and it has been a long time
I still offer my sincerest apologies
In Castellio percyshelley Right to Heresy's masterpiece:
: I presume that this may be the reason why color block diagrams are more important than shaping.
: Personal feeling: The color block diagram focuses on the viewer’s first intuitive feeling and the overall impact, so it is set up well
: The overall frame shape is the first step. As for the description of details, they are all based on the overall shape.
: Maybe I pay too much attention to details. I always feel that if the key details cannot be expressed, all my efforts will be in vain.
: It was all in vain, but it was a small gain out of pocket. However, when it comes to painting human faces, I’m afraid we still have to deal with the eyes first.
: Details
: In addition, I thought that the so-called problem of color block diagrams being mixed but not chaotic seemed to be mentioned in your works Samurai Soul and Tiger Roar.
: Is the overall shape and frame also built to make the shape of the color blocks smooth and the transition smooth, so that all the details are perfect?
: It means that the complexity will not affect the viewing effect.
