@ at sign [] brackets
# number sign {} braces
$ dollar sign : colon
% percent ; semicolon
^ caret, hat / slash
& ampersand, and \ backslash
* asterisk, star , comma
() parentheses . period, dot
+ plus ? question mark
- minus, hyphen, dash ' apostrophe
_ horizontal bar, underscore '' signle quote
= equals sign "" double quote
` grave accent > greater than
~ tilde < less than
| vertical bar
常用的标点符号,一些中文输入法会提供快速键,让使用者直接用键盘敲入;

以KKman为例∶拖曳滑鼠,将欲取下的目标反白之后,按 Alt + c〔复制〕;
◆ Basic Smiley Examples
:-) standard smiley
:) simple smiley
;) winking
:( sad
:D laughing
:O mouth full
:-* kissing
:P tongue sticking out
:p another tongue sticking out
XD laughing hilariously //
XDDD laughing wildly //
◆ No Turning Smiley Examples
^_^ standard happy smiley
^-^ another happy smiley
^^ simple happy smiley
^^" feel embarrassed
@@ eyes open
^_< winking
O_O surprised with eyes open
>_< ouch
\_/ mad
=.= another mad
-.- bored
T_T crying
=^.^= cat face
>^.^< another cat face
也许单独一个方框、一个等号、或一个括弧,代表的只是一个符号而已;
XDDD

Ⅰ ASCII special symbols
Bulletin Board System Can a world inhabited only by words be as colorful as WWW?
The answer is yes, although it seems unlikely at first glance
There are no beautiful JPEG images here, nor interesting GIF images, let alone dazzling FLASH animations.
However, the number of people browsing BBS has not decreased because of this, but has become increasingly prosperous.
The reason is that in addition to practical functions such as discussion boards, chatting, throwing water balls, etc.
Artists can also make a note of the list of contributors to BBS’s popularity.
BBS Art Where did it come from? What kind of pictures can be drawn in an environment with only text?
Mainly relying on special characters who usually don’t attract much attention in articles.
ASCII special symbols will become drawing tools, so how to use them
In the English world, the half-width special symbols that we are familiar with can be easily typed using the keyboard.
Half-width special symbols
?! The exclamation mark bar is actually the bottom line of the previous line
@ at sign [] brackets
# number sign {} braces
$ dollar sign : colon
% percent; semicolon
^ caret, hat slash
& ampersand, and backslash
* asterisk, star, comma
parentheses. period, dot
plus? question mark
minus, hyphen, dash ' apostrophe
horizontal bar, underscore '' signle quote
equals sign "" double quote
grave accent > greater than
tilde < less than
vertical bar
The above mentioned are half-width special symbols in English. What about the full-width special symbols in Chinese?
Commonly used punctuation marks. Some Chinese input methods will provide shortcut keys to allow users to type directly on the keyboard.
For example, Microsoft's new phonetic notation can be typed in first and then the punctuation marks to become full-width.
There are two ways to obtain the special symbols in other parts.
The first is the internal code table. We can use the internal code input method to type some very special full-width special symbols.

Another way is copy & paste which I often use.
When we see enthusiasts providing the above internal code table, in fact its number is not important.
The point is, now that I have seen many ready-made special symbols that have been typed
So why not just take it off and use it?
Take KKman as an example. Drag the mouse to highlight the target you want to remove. Press Alt c to copy.
Then move the cursor to the position where you want to put it, press Alt p and paste it.
Therefore, the author here recommends that you keep a list of special symbols and place it in a place that is easily accessible.
For example, the highlight area on your own BBS personal board or a plain text file on your desktop
When special symbols are needed, they can be used directly by copy & paste.
These special symbols are important components for drawing BBS pictures, and this table can be said to be a box of BBS art materials.
Ⅱ Emoticons
Now that we know how to obtain special symbols, we can try to use them.
The easiest way to use it is with emoticons.
Emoticons are called smiley in English. They use a series of special symbols to draw images that look like expressions.
They are often placed at the end of a sentence to allow readers to understand the literal meaning of the sentence.
You can also understand the other person's tone and attitude to avoid some misunderstandings in tone, joking or serious.
Basic Smiley Examples
The original classic Smile :
I believe many people have seen this combination of colon, hyphen, right parenthesis
As long as you rotate it 90 degrees clockwise, you will have a very simple smiling face.
Next, let’s take a look at some of the more common emoticons.
: standard smiley
: simple smiley
; winking
: sad
:D laughing
:O mouth full
: * kissing
:P tongue sticking out
:p another tongue sticking out
XD laughing hilariously is a very popular expression recently
XDDD laughing wildly Laughing so hard that your mouth is about to fall off
No Turning Smiley Examples
Another smiley symbol that I like very much. It doesn’t need to be rotated ^^
This set of emoticons that don’t require rotation is also very practical. Here are some basic emoticons.
^ ^ standard happy smiley
^ ^ another happy smiley
^^ simple happy smiley
^^" feel embarrassed
@@ eyes open
^ <winking
O O surprised with eyes open
> < ouch
mad
.another mad
. bored
T T crying
^.^ cat face
>^.^< another cat face
Full-width Chinese emoticon examples
This set of emoticons is ever-changing, but
Some symbols cannot be typed out quickly using the keyboard. This is probably its shortcoming.
I often see people using it in nicknames, tweets, etc. where it can be solved in one line.
basic smile
Turn over the table
So touched
My mind is blank
Hey, it’s hopeless. I’m helpless.
Convex than middle finger
# f Explode the veins and blow the gas whistle
Phew, come on, gather energy
Haha, you’re surprised. This is indeed a picture. It’s an ASCII picture composed of text :p
In short, the pictures in BBS are all made up of symbols like this. The transparent background of KKman does not count.
Maybe a single box, an equal sign, or a bracket represents just a symbol.
But when you combine them properly, it becomes a very simple ASCII diagram.
Next, please use your creativity to think of some interesting emoticons.
Maybe in the future we can see the emoticons you designed become a popular buzzword on the Internet XDDD

Stickman What is a stickman? This is a strange match.
Hello everyone
Actually, I don’t know where this word comes from.
Anyway, it just refers to the one on the left with a round head.
He has a square body and thin limbs and looks a bit clumsy.
protest
I'm not stupid
Because it doesn’t take much effort to draw him and the number of symbols required is not large.
Very suitable for beginners to practice
Here, the author directly draws some simple examples to demonstrate
Me, I surrender. Over there, I am Chi. What do you want?

Walking around, standing on my head, I'm about to slip. How could this happen?
Actually, I don’t like stick figures very much ^^" Especially the stick figures that think of the body
Watching him dance, I somehow felt that he was very weak, and I had the urge to beat him;
Then change your style θ <

If you look closely at one of the figures alone, you can see that there are no more than ten symbols used to draw him.
Some relatively simple ones can even be solved within ten symbols.
By drawing stick figures, the main purpose is to make readers feel that drawing ASCII pictures is not too difficult.
In other words, you don’t have to constantly ask others for pictures, ask for pictures, and flatter others.
In the process of flattery, sometimes you have to look at the faces of those masters ^^"
Try it and see if you can draw it. Maybe others will ask you for pictures in the future.
No matter what kind of picture you draw, trial and error is the only way to go. It is unlikely that you will find the most suitable symbol the first time.
Like the badminton racket surface above, I searched for a while before choosing the right lower case theta.
In addition, for baseball gloves, choose a special symbol shaped like a right triangle.
Try to go through this loop several times before completing a picture.
Only when I feel dizzy can the work be satisfying
Check: As you gain more experience, the number of transfers will become less and less.
Well, that’s the introductory part. Come on, do your best.
